Theme Wedding Receptions

A theme wedding reception usually refers to one that occurs in an unusual location. Some of the wealthiest people in the United States, such as movie stars or sports stars, have selected secluded islands or even castles in the United Kingdom for their weddings. In addition to the beauty and luxury of such wedding sites, they have privacy and security away from the possible mobs of fans. It also offers them the opportunity for creativity.
There are also many other locations for wedding ceremonies and receptions which could set the stage for a theme wedding if the couple wishes to pursue it. There have been couples who choose to get married in hot air balloons, in the air while skydiving, under the water wearing scuba gear, on horseback, in barns, around a backyard pool, and now in a spacecraft, a choice that is being designed for couples who have 2.5 million dollars to spend on their matrimonial location. On the opposite end of the spectrum, some couples have been married in the retail store where one of them works.
The theme aspect of the reception is often built upon the desired place for the wedding ceremony or the reception. The couple may choose to expand on the ambiance of such a location by using foods, decorations, and attire that is appropriate to their choice in order to make the experience truly a theme wedding. For example, if they select an island atmosphere, the food might be presented as a luau, tropical plants may be part of the décor, and the male guests might wear tropical shirts as a part of their clothing while the women wear sarongs. The attire of the bridal party should also reflect the atmosphere. Appropriate suits that are casual in appearance would look better for the male attendants than tuxedos with tails, for example. The invitations and thank you notes could coordinate with the tropical look. The gifts for the guests could be tropical flowers or intricate carvings.
Similarly, if a couple chooses to marry in a hot air balloon, then they may hold the reception on a hillside or in an airplane hanger. In order to have a theme reception, all the various wedding and reception plans would then reflect their selection. The choice of wedding themes is only limited by the couple's imagination and perhaps their budget.
